Mussoorie: 19th March –Fifity Students and three faculty members of Oak Grove Boys’ School ,Jharipani visited Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management (IRITM) and RPF Defence Academy, Lucknow in connection with the three days Educational tour to Lucknow. The Students of Oak Grove School also visited Uttar Pradesh Academy of Adminstation and Management .
Mr.Jai Prakash Pandey, Principal, Oak Grove School said that Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management (IRITM), Lucknow was set up in the year 2003. It was conceived to bridge the gap arising due to the fast changing business scenario in India and consequent changes in the transport sector in the areas of Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Aviation, Ports, Shipping, Highways and Railways.
Mr. Pandey further added that in just Fifteen years of its existence, IRITM has evolved as one of the well-acknowledged Centralised Training Institutes (CTI) with state-of-the-art training facilities. It is well equipped with a very good library, FOIS/PRS/UTS online laboratories and a well-furnished hostel with messing facilities. Apart from imparting training to IRTS Probationary Officers, mid career and special courses are also organized for in-service Railway Officers from Junior Scale to HAG level. Ishitwa Anand, one of the students of the group said that IRITM is situated in a sprawling, lush green 70 acre campus on the outskirts of Lucknow. The campus boasts of a wide variety of flora and fauna, including peacocks and beautiful migratory birds roaming freely on the campus.
Students of Oak Grove School also interacted and asked many questions from Mr. Ajay Pratap Singh, Director, IRITM. All the members of the educational tour also attended a motivational lecture of Ms.Neelima singh, Professor,Disaster Managemet ,IRITM .Mr. Vinay Kumar and Mr. Anil Senger were also present along with the students.
